An
Orthodox Jew reads from his prayer book as he enters the
Old City of Jerusalem through Jaffa Gate. Sacred to Jews,
Christians and Muslims, the Old City boasts a shared and
continued history of over 30 centuries. The total size of
this holy and hotly contested city is roughly only 1 square
kilometre, encircled by 4 km of stone walls, with 7 useable
gates. With no borders or barbed wire, over 45,000 Muslims,
Jews and Christians peacefully co-exist within these walls.
